Gdynia/Gdansk, Poland
The CIM Users Group meeting will be located in Gdynia, Poland just outside one of Poland's oldest cities of Gdansk, right on the Baltic Coast. The best option is to book a flight to Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport, which is an international airport located 12 km west northwest of Gdansk, Poland. Regular international airlines operating to/from Gdansk are:
  • Air Berlin (via Berlin)
  • SAS (via Copenhagen)
  • Lufthansa (via Munich/Frankfurt)
  • LOT (via Warsaw)

There is a taxi stop right outside the terminal. Travel time to the hotel is approx. 30 min. Fare is approx. 30-35 USD/27-32 EUR. Credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) generally accepted. Receipts given.
Directions from Warsaw
If you decide to arrive at Warsaw (Frederic Chopin Airport, IATA: WAW), then there are three main choices:
  • Flight: There are LOT (http://lot.com) airplanes from WAW to GDN (usually 6 direct flights a day). Travel time 55 minutes.
  • Train: There is a convenient connection from the Warsaw airport (Warszawa Okecie railway station) to Gdynia. Total travel time is approx. 4 hours, with one change – at Warszawa Zachodnia.
Follow the signs at the airport to get to the railway station (5 min walk), purchase the ticket at the ticket machines to Warszawa Zachodnia (credit cards accepted). In this case, be sure to buy the ticket from Warszawa Zachodnia to Gdynia beforehand, at http://intercity.pl/en/ (account creation may be required) and print it. Trains timetable available at http://rozklad-pkp.pl/en.
Alternatively, buy a ticket for the whole ride at the ticket office at the Warsaw airport railway station. This is not recommended as the trains from Warsaw to Gdansk/Gdynia can be full, so it’s better (and much cheaper) to buy a ticket online in advance.
At Gdynia railway station, there is a taxi stop right outside the station. Travel time to the hotel is approx. 10 minutes, for a small fare, around 5-7 USD.
  • Rent a car at Frederic Chopin Airport: It would be convenient in case you travel in a group 3-4 people. Car rental desks are located in the public area of the Terminal A arrivals hall http://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/en/e-commerce/services/car-hire. Travel time from (Warsaw Chopin Airport, Żwirki i Wigury) to the hotel (Hotel Nadmorski, Juliana Ejsmonda 2, Gdynia) is approx. 4-5 hours.
