The quickest method of getting to and from MCG is to book a taxi ahead of your arrival or departure time. Taxis are readily available outside the terminals. Cost breakdown is as follows:

Skybus provides an economical a direct service to the city. Buses run 24 hours a day, seven days a week every 10-15 minutes throughout the day and every 30-60 minutes overnight. Tickets are available at the airports or online. One-way $17 AUD; R/T $28 AUD.
Sunbus Shuttle coaches operate between Avalon and the Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. One-way $22 AUD; R/T $42 AUD. For an additional fee, Sunbus also offers dropoff and pickup from many hotels located in the Melbourne CBD.
Car Hire (Rental)
Avis, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty agencies operate at both airports. Fees vary by length of rental and vehicle type.
